I do think it helps keep it looking cleaner, but everyone has an opinion.

We will find out. Even if it is the shower pan alone, that is where the stains form.

I have two showers with full epoxy grout. I LOVE it so much. It doesn't stain, you don't have to scrub it...it doesn't grow mold, etc. I did the first bath maybe 12 years ago and insisted that the 2nd bath I did a couple of years ago have Epoxy. I eliminated one contractor who wouldn't use it. I understand it's just a bit more time consuming to install and some people don't want to learn anything new.

I literally spray some cleaner on the showers and swish it around and rinse. You will NOT be sorry. It's worth every penny.

Epoxy is complete overkill for residential. If you have issues with mold and staining, they are sourced from 3 possible things that have zero to do with grout.

1. The shower is incorrectly waterproofed underneath the tile.

2. You have inadequate ventilation, or don't use your ventilation.

3. You aren't cleaning with the right pH neutral tile and stone cleaner products to remove the skin cells, soap, and conditioner residues.

Anything pH neutral will work ZEP makes a great inexpensive concentrate that is widely available.
