Are you replaceing a glass door? making what is left into storage? The question or image isn't clear.

If you are installing the vertical strips as an accent wall to mount the TV on, I would run it all the way to the ceiling. IF I understand the question.

Love @lisedv 's suggestion. But, I think your wall is too small for it. Two different treatments on this small wall is too much.

The glass door display and console with open shelves are quite busy. Consider a simpler set up with a wider console under the TV, the wood wall and a larger mounted TV. You can use the TV screen to display an art photo if you want.
