Led lighting in 4000k white will help.

A very creamy white with a hint of peach in it will be really good to tone things down, like BM Natural Wicker, SW Navajo White (but not other makers' navajo whites), or Behr Coco Malt. Avoid anything gray or with greenish or blue undertones as that is the opposite of orange on the color wheel and will make the orange stand out in juxtaposition. Basic painting theory - opposite colors on the wheel "vibrate"/jump more when placed next to each other.

Here are some suggestions for your orange oak. It was very commonly used in the 1970s, 80s, and even a little in the 90s.

If you are looking for cream, you are really looking for a pale orange cream like the Dutch Boy Sandy Oasis or Ben Moore Waterbury Cream above. But you can also steer into the skid as they have in this inspiration image below where the wall paint is orange (or rather Yellow-orange. SW Jonquil is a pretty close match). It’s my favorite honey oak kitchen.

I have used SW Natural Linen with orange oak wood tones. Really softens the orange.
