Looking for design ideas for an area in kitchen

We are beginning to design our kitchen but aren't really sure what to do with this area. The butler pantry to the left is staying put. Anyone have any ideas for us

It would be more helpful if you could show us what you are doing with your entire kitchen.

You could wrap your new counter and base cabinets around the corner just like the old ones if you need more counter and cabinet storage.

If you need a place to sit for one or two people, add a small cafe table and chairs.

It all depends on what you are in the most need of - storage, seating, a place to feed pets?

If the cabinet on the left is staying then I would not put any cabinets opposite it. Add a small bistro table with 2 chairs for morning coffee under the window or maybe a desk. Also you can remove the pantry cabinet and move it to another room or to another wall. It all depends on the rest of your kitchen design and we need a floor plan to help you with EVERYTHING all at once not just a small section to consider. This could be closed off and made into a powder room with a door where the pantry cabinet is for instance. Too many possibilities.

That cabinet is now driving the whole plan ? Sorry that is not how you get a good well functioning kitchen update . The trem butlers pantry is being misused in this case . We need a to scale floor plan of that whole area, some understanding of the need to include that cabinet at all. To scale on graph paper show every window , doorway where those lead and then all measurements clearly marked . Some clue as to your needs is helpful too. The area you show IMO is huge waste of space for no real reason . We need info please and lots of it . We will ask questions you will answer here in comments . The plan will be posted here in jpeg format in a comment . Lots of back and forth will happen

Hard to say without knowing what is planned for the rest of the kitchen - depending on dimensions I might be tempted to move the cabinet so it sits on the back wall

Is the cabinet/pantry built in?

I would move it to the message center wall. It's a focal point.

The sunlight from the window will look great on it.

Leave the other wall for a message center (you know you need it, old habits die hard)

I am anxious to see the rest of the plan.
