Log Cabin - Storm at Sea Combo QUILTED
I saw a photo of this quilt design online somewhere and decided that it would make a dent in my drawers full of 1.5" strips that I precut into lengths for log cabins. It was supposed to be a mindless project that I worked on when a had a few minutes to sew or when I needed a break from another quilt. Well, that just doesn't work too well for me. Once I start a quilt, I'm pretty driven to finish it. It finished at 63x90. Last year, I bought a backing online that I wasn't that pleased with when I got it. I thought I would end up donating the fabric. But that crazy multi-colored backing actually looks good with this crazy multi-colored quilt, so I guess I'll be using it after all.

Rho, here is the backing along side the quilt top. It will definitely be a colorful quilt.

Here is the final product. It's a good snuggle quilt for a tall person, 62x90. I used the Van Gogh panto because I thought the pattern looked a little like ocean froth, keeping with the Storm at Sea theme. The binding is a greyish, brownish plum color that is very neutral, but not black. I hope I can find more of it to have at hand.
