Trip Report - Savannah Hotels

My daughter and I are meeting in Savannah later this month (August - we are certifiable) and trying to decide between the following hotels with pools:

Perry Lane Hotel

Hotel Bardo

Does anyone have any experience with either of these or have other reccomendations? Goals for our long weekend getaway include relaxing poolside, brunches, dinners and a little shopping. Thanks!

Just a quick update - loved the Perry Lane Hotel and our time in Savannah. Hot and humid as expected so the rooftop pool was very much appreciated. Ran into old friends from our town at the Pink House tavern (the couple who introduced me to my ex (and DD's dad) and that was an unexpected fun time. Had brunch at SCAD's Gryphon and shopped at the SCAD store but also found this wonderful little shop called "Southern Crafted". Beautiful locally made oyster and deviled egg plates which were very tempting! Despite the fact that I do not eat/serve oysters and only make deviled eggs once a year. A great trip and thanks for the recommendations for the Perry Lane - it was perfect for us!

ETA: Savannah would make a great GWGTG location...

Ruby, DH and I stayed at the Perry Lane just a few months ago! We liked it a lot. We were there for only 2 nights.

This year is flying by — I had to look back at emails to see when we were there. I thought it was last year!

That sounds delightful! We stayed at the Hamilton Turner Inn. Lots of good choices in town!

Jealous you can shop at SCAD stores!

Thanks, good to hear you enjoyed the Perry Lane Sueb.

We love SCAD - my niece attended grad school there and we are big fans. Also really liked the Gryphon restaurant operated by SCAD.

If you are not set on a hotel, Conde Nast Traveler had an article last year on the best b&bs in Savannah.

Thanks kitschy, Savannah has so many great options but we really are looking for a property with a nice pool area for this trip. Not that I'm looking forward to being in a swimsuit in front of people!

Sounds like a good time undererred by the heat and humidity. We Southerners — especially including you Floridians —-are a hardy lot. Not everyone can shop successfully in muggy heat! Glad you had a good trip Ruby, and spent some quality time with your daughter ❤️
