I love the look of the brown on this house. I can see, it does need some work. It will be beautiful, if you restore, rather than remodel it. I would however,. try to keep the colorscheme it has now.

Thank you cat_ky! The part we are removing was actually a solarium added much later that doesn't go with the house well at all (modern inside). We are going to try to stay true to the original home as much as possible otherwise. However, the reason for the color change is the property not shown has a large amount of trees that make it very dark (and we live in a coastal town with too many foggy days!) so we would still like to brighten it with a lighter color.

Other than MCM houses ( mine ) Craftsman houses are my second favorite. Why don’t you check out SW’s website suggestions of paint colors for Craftsman houses, some excellent suggestions there, usually more ” earthy ” colors. Not sure warm white with gray trim is a good fit on your house. My very modern flat roofed MCM is in a warm white with SW Urbane Bronze trim ( brownish gray ), looks good on mine but your home very different.

The SW Urbane Bronze is a great color. I'm going to try looking at the SW suggestions for craftsmans next!

If you're trying to restore, I'd skip the stone elements on the pillars. Keep the architectural elements the way they were originally as much as possible.

Decide on the roof color first. Try to find shingles that are not variegated.

For Craftsman-style homes, common and historically accurate roof colors include various shades of brown, green, and gray, often paired with earthy siding colors like olive, russet, or muted yellow

EVERY newly built or remodeled home in my MCM neighborhood is white! Enough already, I liked it at first until it was way overdone.

K Laurence, its like every color that gets too popular. Gray got overdone. Beige got over done, and many other colors too. Now its white everything. All this hospital sterile white, is one of the worst overdones in my lifetime.

How about the reverse, gray house, white trim?

It will be the only one in my neighborhood. 😆 I don't care what is in, out, or overdone. Sometimes you just have to do what makes you happy and, as I mentioned before, lightness is very much needed on this property. Appreciate you all very much! 😊

Since it will be the only one in your neighborhood go for it. It would be one of dozens in mine , lol. Btw, I like white houses too but not where I live. ( I like white cars too )

You also can go with off-white to make white trim pop up.
