Kitchen Peninsula Cabinet Design

We are working on a kitchen update and want to turn a half wall between the kitchen and dining room into a peninsula, but I'm having trouble with the best layout and cabinet colors for the peninsula.

Current Kitchen (from the dining room):

For color: our current cabinets are a medium wood tone that we want to keep, but we are worried about trying to stain match the new peninsula since it likely won't completely match. Does anyone have a peninsula/island that is a different color than their wood cabinets? What colors would work for that, or should we try to go with the stain match instead?

For layout, we have the dining room right behind the kitchen, with a wall separating the kitchen from the living room area. I'm alternating behind having a standard peninsula, and L shape, or moving the peninsula into the kitchen a little more to add an overhang and some barstools. I'm looking for any thoughts on these layouts, ideas on what cabinets/shelving we could put on the peninsula wall, or any other ideas that we haven't thought of yet!

Need a true floor plan with all dimension. Graph paper works best and draw it to scale as well.

THat makes sense yo me but what is in that wall? Please no cabinets sitting on the counter . IMO more an island than a peninsula . You do know that the plan will then be a row of cabinets sitting outside tthe kichen space . I need to see a to scale floor plan and you need an independant KD who has a good contractor in their pocket . As for what the cabinets should be IMO all drawers on the kitchen side and no stools at that area . Post a to scale plan here on graph paper , show where the DR and LR are and all measurements clearly marked . Before that find out what is in that wall. You do realize this will also require new flooring that is the same for all the spaces .

Thanks everyone, I had meant to include the floor plan in the original post, but looks like I forgot about it. I have edited the post to include the floor plan with dimensions of each room.

The full wall between the kitchen and LR has electric outlets and HVAC ducts in it, so we don't want to remove that to save on cost. The half wall between the kitchen and DR only has a couple of outlets in it, which we can migrate to the new island.
