The plant looks fine besides having sawfly or Japanese beetle damage to the foliage. How much is “some morning sun”? All that plant needs is to be planted in an area with at least 6 hours of sun (morning sun is always great). To me that pot is too small specially with the high summer heat. If possible I would plant it in the ground with at least 6 hours of morning sun and water it well the rest of this growing season. It should look nice next spring. Do you k ow which variety is it?
