It could cost anywhere between $10 and 30 per SF. Of course, it will also depend on the fabricator and what they will charge to install it.

Your best bet is to find a local fabricator/s and get the price; what someone paid for it here is not gonna help you, you should get a price locally.

A local licensed fabricator gave me an estimate of $728 for fabricating and installing a remnant of a stone (Taj Mahal) slab with 1-1/2" mitered edge detail, three faucet holes, and an 18"x12" cutout for the sink. This was for a 48-inch wide vanity (7-2/3 sq ft). The remnant material was an additional $383 plus local taxes.

That is, about $145 PSF. I declined the quote. This was to replace an existing vanity top and would have required additional work on the backsplash.

Ask for the cash and carry price and install it yourself. It's the trip to the house and install that's the bulk of a price for a remnant. Unless you are doing crazy things like mitered fancy edges and other things that give PIA vibes. If they only have to fabricate it as it sits, and it's close to the needed end size, and you install, you can probably get it for $20-$40 a square. Depends on if they need some Friday afternoon cash for beer money for the crews.
