Adding to the photo above that I posted: This is a pottery barn dresser in hewn oak, with original black hardware. I want to change the knobs. I've tried some of the beautiful new golds (honey bronze by Top Knobs) and it's just too bright for the serene vibe I'm going for. I know no one is using German Bronze or Oil Rubbed Bronze much anymore, but if anyone has photos of any recent projects using these two finishes, I would love to see them. Thanks:)

If you want something that will look "old" then use real bronze hardware that will patina. Look at Rocky Mountain Hardware. They will be quite a bit more than the TopKnobs products.

I have knobs and pulls from them in my master bathroom and powder room. This photo was taken 2 years ago and they are quite a bit darker today. I can always polish them and get them looking new again. They also have other finishes that start out a bit darker.
