Replacement kitchen lighting

I am looking for advice on updating the light fixtures in my kitchen. Some of the globes are peeling and discolored, and I thought it might be time to change it up. What fixtures could be added here to update things but still go with what I have. I have been considering brushed nickel fixtures instead of the black. Any advice appreciated.
