In my daughter's rental in a 100-yr-old house, it was tree roots growing through the drain pipe between the house and street.

Did the problem happen suddenly, almost overnight, or has the problem been slowly getting worse and worse to the point now that it's no longer draining?

If the former, it could be that the vent on the roof is blocked, sometimes birds like to make their nest on these vents. If the latter, it could be a buildup of grease and crud inside the drain pipe, or it could also be caused by tree roots.

Hello, about a month ago I had a problem with a bathroom sink draining very slow, I plunged it without success, I then poured two cups on muriatic acid down the drain waited about two hours. Had success. The acid Had hydrogen chloride 31.45%.

Dissolve 1/2 cup of Super Washing Soda in a gallon of hot water and pour it down the drain. Let it sit for a half hour then pour a gallon of hot water down the drain.
