Why do you need more? Seems what you have is perfect and works with the architecture.

I do need more. There is nowhere to sit, no front porch, no coverage if I wanted to sit outside. I want some covered area for seating or just

You could, theoretically, redo all the roof and end up with a tiny covered area between the front door and the garage door. Most people would say it isn't worth it.

This is not the location for sitting. There can never be a structure that can be added to allow you to sit and not be in the way for the garage.

Your space doesn't even have to clearance to add this structure and what good is one chair?

There is no room to add an overhang/porch You'd have to take space from the house itself to accommodate this seating area.

I remember loving to go to my one friends home. They lived on a quiet street and every night after dinner her mom sat on the front porch and all of the kids played in the street - kickball or tag or whatever. Other mom's were all out as well. Some would walk up and down the street carrying gossip and saying hello. It was a wonderful feeling of community.

I grew up in and MCM home, pretty far off the street and even if my mom had sat on the front porch, there weren't any neighbors walking up to the front porch.

Homes built after WWII seemed to be much more family centric than community centric. With TV and AC we kind of lost that neighbor to neighbor connection, but back yards got bigger and most homes had a nice patio out back where the parents could sit and have coffee and the kids could play in the yard.

Your home is more of that family centric style. You come home, drive into the garage, go in the house from a door in your garage and don't have to ever use the front door.

I don't see a lot of opportunity here to make a front porch that will feel like a nice place to sit and relax. There just isn't much room by the front door for any type of cover or seating.

What about just adding coverage then? Being able to stand at the front door and not get rained on when trying unlock the door.

Not with the driveway RIGHT THERE. Whatever seating you set up would be in the way. What does the backyard look like?

There are corner canopies (feel like you see them more in the UK than the US) but the home doesn’t look like it has much header room above the door recess so probably not a solution

We aren’t seeing the far left side of the house and driveway. Is there room in that area for a small pergola or covered area?

Thank you all for your ideas. I wish there was something that could be done to the front. The back of the home is already taken care of. I was just hoping for some ideas for a front porch area. But the way this house is designed, the garage is right next to the front entrance and so I guess nothing can be added. But I would like something for weather protection at the very least. Here are some more images...

I did see an old Houzz article where someone had a corner door and a small bit of protection. They were looking to expand, but what they have may work for you.

Why not park in the garage and enter though the inside of the house in bad weather?

What about adding a porch roof and extend it all the way across the garage? Maybe one of the many talented commentators on Houzz could create a something.

Consider adding a gazebo by the beautiful tree to the right of the driveway.
