This photo is only to illustrate my idea. The key point is that if you choose chairs with exposed wood, the finish should match the table exactly. Alternatively, you can opt for fully upholstered chairs or select a lighter wood tone to create a contrasting look.

There is nothing wrong with the floor. Why replace it, especially if you are going to add a rug into the scheme. You don't mention the size of the table, but keep in mind you want a rug that is at least 2' wider than the table so that chairs can be pulled back and legs are still on the rug. Often a square rug compliments a round table.
