Looks like a comfy sectional!

For your ottoman - I would do what I've had done for mine. It's basically a waterfall wood table that slides over the ottoman = you can use the ottoman for putting up feet to get comfy while watching movies + it works as a coffee table when needed. It works MUCH better than using a tray (which is what I originally used).

This one below actually sits on top of your ottoman .= waterfalls sides do not reach floor:

There are also ones that don't come down as far as the one above. They maybe cover half the sides of your ottoman (depending on the thickness of your ottoman). I feel like they function more like having a large wood tray on top of your ottoman. The ones that reach the floor are able to be used alone or over the ottoman. The hidden casters just make it super easy to slide it over the ottoman (or slide it off to the side when you want to use the entire ottoman as a foot rest).

Mine has hidden casters so it can slide off and on your ottoman like shown below:

You can make them different widths also - I wanted a wider one since my ottoman is large like your ottoman.

Also, the one above shows a wider waterfall coffee table for over the ottoman.

These can be used alone - or with baskets (for storage of blankets/extra pillows/etc.) or individual foot rest "poofs/cubes" underneath it if you no longer want to use your ottoman in the room.

You can have the sides made differently if you don't want a solid waterfall:

The one above would look nice as a stand alone coffee table if you decided to change your furniture and no longer had an ottoman.

It was EXPENSIVE!! I think that's why people started making them on Etsy - because who wants to spend $1,500 - 2,000 on three pieces of wood put together?

If you don't think that you can do a DIY one (it's pretty easy - especially if you use pocket holes to join the two waterfall sides to the top) - there are quite a few people who offer them on Etsy. Most of them can be customized = they can have the top made wider (even though in the drop down menu it only allows customizing the width of the entire piece to fit over your ottoman). Also, several are made with hidden casters + you could ask someone to add the casters to your project even if they aren't included on the one you're viewing.

It definitely works much better than a large wooden tray = it's more stable + you don't have to figure out where to lay it down when you want to use the ottoman (you can either just shift the waterfall wood table over a bit so your feet can be on the ottoman - or it can be rolled completely off of the ottoman if the whole ottoman is being used as a foot rest for several people).

Take everything off the mantle and see how that looks. Sometimes we don't need to add but subtact what no longer goes with the new vibe.
