Your brown looks gray on computer unfortunately, but I would color match the lightest color in your countertop.

We went with shoji white for the walls. Going back to look at countertops next week

Any thoughts on a granite or hard marble that would match?

I have used SWCheviot a lot lately. It seems to me to be one of the softest whites. Keep in mind that your cabinets will have an effect on the paint color. The green will reflect onto the walls.

Hold off on the paint choice (and test a few!) until your counter and backsplash are chosen/ installed and I wouldn’t vary its sheen by much. If you bought the paint…suggest holding off until at least the counters are installed as it’s your biggest/hardest decision and its undertone needs to be complemented and cream may be a better choice for example.

Have you looked on line for combinations that appeal to you? It looks like a small kitchen, so choices will be especially important and I’d avoid overly busy counters and backslash. Your flooring comes into play as well, so bring home lots of backsplash samples once your counter is installed.

Taj Mahal quartzite would be a natural choice, even though it is a bit overused at the moment. You have so many options, and choosing your counter material from your wall color seems a little backward to me, but to each his own. Soapstone would also be beautiful in that space as would be a Danby marble. Either would be a better choice than the Fantasy Brown you show above.

While Taj is always a popular choice it depends on what slabs are available to you.

They can pull more gray or taupe. Recent one that I happened to see was pulling green!

Once the counter and backsplash are in you can choose the paint. You also have to consider your exposure. North, South South, East or West facing. This is a start. How much natural light do you get?

Does this paint have to coordinate with other spaces or is the kitchen contained?

We alway use a gloss on our trim work.
