It looks more like an office than a home. Paint can help, but you might want to consider something that is not black, white, or cream.

The table appears to be in a different room. Is this your dining room and not the kitchen?

Are your cabinets white? The light shining on them has changed the color.

If your downlights are adjustable, you may want to change them to something between 3000-4000K.

I painted the walls gray for drama in the room and added art to the walls.

I like the gray what color is that? And the dining area is in a slightly different room from the cooking area, but they are attached. It’s open. It’s like an L shape. The cabinets are Chantilly lace Benjamin Moore. There is not much paint in the kitchen area, but there are some walls that we will need to paint as well. The appliances are stainless steel.

It's a gray I liked in my computer, not an actual paint color. The color of the wall could just as easily be green, blue, orange, yellow etc.

If you want a color suggestion for the kitchen we need to see it. The two rooms should coordinate but they don't need to match.

For something modern and out of the ordinary, you can have a mural on one wall, other walls in a warm white (that matches the background of the mural), a chandelier that hangs lower than what you have, perhaps a fabric runner with decor on the table to cosy it up.

What colors are in the other rooms of the house? It is great if all the colors on one floor go well together without being too matchy.
