You have the space to hang the rod above the arch.

If heat load is a big problem for these rooms, consider getting a film applied to the glass to eliminate some of the heat load.

Draperies are very pretty but can be hard to open/close and don't always look great when closed. I like the idea of a plantation shutter and guessing they make them for an arch your size. You might also check into a sun blocking window film that might work for you.

Here are three different options how to solve this

Do this installment on the inside of the windows. Eliminates the need for fabric draperies when open; when closed you can adjust the louvers to direct the natural light; at night, close the louvers for privacy.

FAKE IT!! Hide the arch completely. Pretend it's a rectangle transom.

Easy peasy, less $$ than shutters by a lot, and beautiful, and better insulation from heat.

Those woven shades? They are HIDING way too much header above the windows! and making the window appear better place in the wall, taller than it actually is. A builder goof of UGLY!

There are millions of textures...: ) and for better heat control, add the privacy liner option to any woven wood shade., which will make your "fake", look NOT a fake at all..

Inside and outside are two different things. Nobody on the exterior can tell what the heck your interior looks like.

Pretend!

Mount a natural woven shade, with a privacy liner ABOVE the arch and to the outside left /right casings of the window BELOW the arch.

Don't go way above the woven shade with the curtain rod, just a couple inches as you

Raise the rod to above the arch and add decorative panels. Only you will know.....and outside? The arch windows will simply appear as they have a shade.

All of these arches? A pain in the ASS.

Do yourself a favor, get a good portable AC FOR YOUR OFFICE. Clearly, your ac is insufficient, or the windows are cheap, or you are a willing to suffer sort of human: )

I might add..... If you don't NEED or want curtain panels in the office? You need not have them.

The shade as living room will do the SAME thing.: ) and still provide the unity of exactly same heat control, privacy.

We had that same arched window in our family room and had a cellular shade custom made for it. Never opened it. Same issue as you have with the sun . We took it out and never looked back. The double hung windows have wooden blinds to control the sun.

It’s a beautiful window and I’d try to keep its essence. Roman blinds/sun resistant lining would allow the window to be appreciated in a modern simple format, while still being able to control light as the day progresses.

Adding a window seat would be stunning.

If opening/closing will be a pain, consider remote (textured) blinds with optional settings.

Lovely!! Find someone to make them: ) You won't find the configuration online, you will FIND CUSTOMIZED shutter, tilt the blade and leave it alone. If you need drop down for further heat control? The woven wood disguise is a lot easier.
