If it were me I'd look for two upholstered chairs in the same shade of brown as the seats/strip on yours, but be mindful of how that upholstery fabric plays with your rug. Velvet or a textured nubby fabric may look nice. If a new rug is an option, I'd go a bit bigger so the chairs at the heads can be more substantial and stay on the rug when pulled out. Beautiful set.

Thank you, yes I have checked with many retailers. Many show it on their website but no longer have any inventory. There is a place in NYC that has the chairs but they don't ship to Canada so I'm out of luck there.

Not knowing where you are in Canada, is it possible to drive to NYC and get the chairs yourself?

Thanks but we already tried that. It was visually too heavy with the dark brown as the rest of our house is the light colour of the chairs.

Use upholstered host chairs - different fabrics available depending on the colour of your chairs, they appear differently is some of the posted pictures.

How often do you seat 10?

For daily use, I'd keep 8 chairs out. Stash 2 extra chairs elsewhere in your home that you bring out for when you have to seat 10.

I'd get this Ikea chair and have it custom slipcovered with a fabric that matches your other chairs. Use them as captain chairs.

Some type of tall back gray chair should work.

It's TOO many chairs around the table. Once you sit to eat? Nobody even notices you pulled in a non matched chair !

Failing that, you keep a bench elsewhere for one side, and have more chairs than you need: ) when you need "More" , especially if little kids or teens use the bench. They care not.

People often opt for larger, sturdier upholstered chairs at both ends of the fining table.
