When your DD Recommends Something…

…do you listen? I do. Mine is always experimenting with inexpensive makeup and facial care products. She handed me a tube of this lip stain & plumper from L’Oreal and I am totally impressed. It’s called ’Plump Ambition, Hyaluronic Lip Oil PH’ and I’ll put a link & photo below. I bought it at Target for $10.99 and it is also available at Wally World, Ulta and wherever they sell the brand.

After you apply, it adapts to the PH of your skin within 10 minutes. It felt a little oily and cool at first but that went away quickly and all I felt was very hydrated lips for several hours. I don’t usually even wear lipstick unless we’re going out, just a smear of a tinted lip balm or something hydrating thru the day. I can’t tell much difference between these two colors (crystal ice & Lilac) but the darker ones would probably look darker on the lips.

Funny thing, I applied some before I left home this morning to go to a dental lab for a color match for a crown. The lady handed me a tissue & asked me to wipe off my lipstick. Nothing came off! I told her what I had applied and she was fine with it.

I use City Lips every morning before any lip gloss. It may make them infintesimally plumper but I just like the way it feels. It’s sticky ish by itsel but is a great base for the next product.

Outside I will def try those lip stains. The only one I use right now is one from Covergirl recommended by Bbstx. It stays on 4EvR 😎 so I like the concept.

Yes, I always listen when DD recommends something! Which reminds me, she recommended a self tanning product she got at Target. I have to ask her again for the name.

I've always avoided lip plumping anything. Does it make your lips bigger like some of those products claim to do? I have never wanted my lips to be bigger.

I don't have a daughter and have never used a lip plumping product but I believe you if you say works well.

My nephew is married to a highly regarded stylist (one of those booked weeks ahead and making quite a comfortable income) and she approved E.L.F. products (Walmart) for her then preteen girls who were just becoming interested in makeup. I bought a few of their items for the girl's Christmas stockings that year since their Mom had approved them.

I never go a day without a neutral almost colorless lipgloss even if I'm just doing household chores or gardening. I cannot remember the last decade I had chapped lips. And, DH encourages drop in company so I never know who I might see or might be seeing me 😊

I may try your L'Oreal but I don't do a lot of color. The ship has sailed on days of bright red lipstick here.

Too soon to tell, jsk. Mine have definitely thinned as I have aged, especially my upper lip. So if it plumps a little bit, I’m ok with that. I’ll report back in a week or two but i don’t use lip product on a regular basis.

I’d be interested in the self-tanning product. I have tied a couple in the past, just for my legs in the spring when they look so white. Not a fan of whatever i used.

My daughter has given me some great recommendations overall. Definitely for make-up and skin care. Getting ready to try Illa Super Serum that she has been using for a few months and really likes, not super inexpensive but at least I have a personal recommendation.

I have yet to find a lip stain that does not dry out my sensitive lips.

Mtn, the two I have tried are both a pink-ish color on me. Similar on DD. When you first apply it, your lips look very glossy as you might expect, but that soon fades to a softer matte finish. We both have light olive skin, although she is blonde and I am not. If you look at rhe L’Oreal website, the other available colors can be viewed. I never wear a dark lip color so didn’t give those another look. Might be fun to try though.

Jill, I have been very surprised this does not dry my lips one bit since i tend to have dry lips year round. Just the opposite.

I do listen to the recommendations. I have 2 DDs. DD1 is the nomad free spirit, who surprisingly is quite into appearances. A fewyears ago she praised Milani mascara . I rarely wear mascara but when I do, that's what I use ( available at CVS).

DD2 is less into makeup but we have similar hair, (hers is really nice with abundant curls, mine is thinning and tends to frizzkink) and I follow her hair product recommendations.

Is the Covergilr you're all referring to Outlast? I've been using that for probably 20 years.. definitely 15. I hae the same eperience at dentist. It does not cme off.
