This is too small of a space in which to have three different wood finishes - the walls, painted wood, and white oak. Have you looked at a sample of white oak in your space? It seems too clashy with orange walls.

Do all painted or all wood color matched to the walls.

the white oak selection in terms of your grade of species.....also any staining/topcoating , should be set in the space as a sample before you pick other finishes to coordinate. Upgrading your lighting might be in order in this kitchen .

Thank you! Lisedv. That's a great place to start. I really apreciate that. It's a good place to start--I may be going a bit more taupe. The cabinets will also go to the celiing. I appreciate the input about the finishes, herbflavor and kendrah--these are tiled floors--kind of green and there are white oak floors in the rest of kitchen. I will be removing the wood counter on the island, as well. Again, thank you.
