Hoping to get some help from the hive mind that had been so helpful a few years ago when we did our kitchen renovation.

I know this bathroom looks dated, but I don't mind the 70/80s look, and especially like the wood/white color scheme. I also like the large mirrors and large vanity with corner cabinet. They make the room look spacious and provider good storage. So I'm hoping to update only parts of it instead of a complete overhaul.

What I have in mind is replacing the floor tiles to larger pieces, re-stain the wood doors, window frame, and wood trims on the vanity to a lighter color, and add baseboards to the walls next to the shower stall (currently has water damage that needs to be repaired first).

Questions are:

1. Recommendation for new floor tiles? Since the counter has the same tiles as the floor right now, would updating only the floor tile make the space look incoherent? I'd prefer to keep it white, since trying to match the brown/beige in the mosaic tiles around the shower base might make the whole space too brown. But i'm not set on a particular color if anyone has creative suggestions.

2. Is it even possible to stain the darker wood to a lighter color? I especially don't like the oak doors and dark window frame.

Open to other ideas as well. I don't have to keep this vanity but honestly didn't find any that are as functional and fit the space as well as what we have.
