For a 14' x 12' bedroom with 8' ceilings, painting the walls, ceiling, and trim all in the same color with two coats, you’ll want to plan on about 4 gallons of paint. That amount allows for full coverage across all surfaces and gives you a little extra for future touch-ups.

Paint coverage can vary slightly depending on the product you choose, the surface texture, and whether you’re going over a dark color. In most cases, though, 4 gallons is a safe and accurate estimate.

Kendrah - with other paints, I think two gallons would be enough - especially since the current color isn't that much darker than the new one. However, with F&B, I would expect to use three.

It took 4 gallons for my bedroom, which is 15 x13. No trim painted, just walls and ceiling. I would want the trim, a different sheen than walls and ceiling. (2 coats on walls and ceiling)

Just buy a 5 gallon pail and pour all the gallons into it, and stir well. Thats what I use.

There is no way you need more than 3 gallons of F&B BTW builders use crappy paint that is why it takes so much

8x12=96 8x14=112 96+96+112+112=416 sq ft. This does not include the doors and windows that won't be painted.

Depending on the paint you choose a gallon of better quality paint will cover about 400 sf.

F&B quotes larger numbers (480 sq ft per gallon for most of their paints).

Why would you need more than 2 gallons?
