Decorating a very tiny condo rental living room

I need advice as to what furniture would work in this small space and how to place it?

How many of you live here?

Do you watch TV or watch everything on a laptop?

Do you want a table to eat or work at?

Do you imagine having guests over?

Do you want to be able to look out the window - face the window, or are you ok with your back to it?

Give us some ideas about how you live and then we can make suggestions. Also,

It is for 1 person, no t.v. just a laptop, does not matter if it has a small table but some sort of coffee table would be useful, just the occasional guest, not sure about looking out the window as there is not much of a view so either or works. Would be for one retired person who enjoys using the internet, working on crafts such as crochet etc or reading so a lamp or some sort of lighting would be useful, maybe a small throw rug to break up the space? Open to any and all suggestions.

I like Jan’s plan other than the twin bed. I would get a double. It’s nice to have space to spread out a bit

    ^^^: )

All those couples in a king....? They're each in a twin. But..if you want more? Go to queen. It only 6" wider, 5" longer than full/double

My vote would be for a full sized bed, inches matter with a bedroom that small.

Well. I sure do hope someone tells all the married and non married couples in the king,

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEKS

splitting 78 inches in width to equal the same 39 as a twin. Not to mention all the dorm rooms, the studio in elderly living! My word...!!!!!

At any rate. I'd leave room for a generous side table with drawers....: )

There is not a lot of ...storage.

Yes let’s all emulate dorm rooms and elderly living facilities in our design choices. Sounds ideal really.

There seems to be no overhead lighting in the living area. These LED torchier lights are not very attractive but give off tons of light. The white will mostly blend into your walls. I have used them in rents and some other spaces recently. They have remote controls, three bulb temps, and are dimmable. LINK - You can find them on Wayfair, Amazon, lots of places

I have lived in a lot of small spaces. I look for these features in furniture was the can help the space feel bigger:

    - Furniture with open arms, and narrow slender arms, nothing rolled, nothing overstuffed.

    - Sofas and chairs where you can see the feet - no skirting

    - Tables with a pedestal base instead of three or four legs

    - Drop leaf tables can be great.

    - Often seating that is lower to the ground is helpful, but it depends on whether you can easily get up from low seats. Not a great thing for anyone with arthritis.

    - Purchase the largest sofa your space can hold. Small sofas in a small space make a place feel like a doll house.
