Updated- You may remember my bedroom….

Not too long ago, I updated my master bedroom, painting and wallpapering. It was probably Spring. Now, winter in Maine is looming. Frost warnings for my garden are nightly and DH is starting to say he’s chilly and this is after the wool blanket has been added beneath the cotton matelasse coverlet. Soon we will switch to flannel sheets, but I am going to need more layers.

Need help finding patterns to add into this space.

I saw this sage gingham check duvet cover on Garnet Hill, do you think it can work?

I also like their Provence Quilt. DH and I often like to keep two twin quilts on the foot of the bed, so whoever is cold can pull one up. I have a dog who snuggles into my side and a cat who acts as a sleep hat, so I am need fewer layers.

I am pretty sure I ”need” the pillow shown with the provence quilt

Going for a short hike, hoping to return to a slew of suggestions :)

Update - While I might have wanted everything I posted, ”frugal me” balked. I purchased a ginham comforter and sham spread, very reasonably from Target and am quite pleased. With dogs and cats on the bed I really dont like a huge investment, they can be messy.

Pretty sure I will be ordering the checked duvet cover. Still mulling on the other quilt and pillow and looking around.

I love it all localeater - it looks put together and thoughtful but also lived in (in a good way!) and real life, not a design photo shoot that screams hands off . Accommodating our fur friends is real life. I think of Joan at For The Love Of A House in NH and her rescue dogs who are allowed on furniture and beds - real life and priorities.

Your gingham duvet is charming.

Please don’t let your dogs tell mine that they

are allowed on furniture. My current dogs live under the new regime of no dogs on the bed and I’m loving it. I previously used a sheet to protect the duvet but fine dirt sifts through and it always looked terrible. The bedskirt still suffers where the bros rub up against it. The only breaking of the law is when Ronnie is ready for breakfast ands puts his front paws on the bed to yawn, stretch, and announce the time.
