Get rid of the shears box wood hedge that just makes the house look longer and shorter. Think depth, texture, color. Select plants based on their final size so you don’t need to shear constantly

I love the simple look, no or low maintenance.

I would choose a natural wood/look garage door, like a verticle slat board look.

Paint the front door a color you love.

Remove the hedge of bushes adjacent to the house and replace with a much more interesting landscape plan.

What is the general geographic area of the house? If we know that, we can include some landscaping photos/ideas for that particular climate. I'm guessing FL?

I like the simplicity of your home but I agree that the long horizontal hedge should go. I

would enlist the help of a landscape designer for a plan/ideas. Your house is similar to my MCM in some respects, mine more MCM though with flat roof, etc. One thing I had done was have a raised, smooth stuccoed planter built where your hedge is ( narrower however). I wish I could post a pic but I’m a tech idiot. It made a big difference, added dimension, but if you do something like that make sure they waterproof the interior of the planter, My mistake, had to have mine done after. I also extended my front walkway further out.

I like the clean simplicity myself. Maybe play some strong verticals (palms?) against the horizontals in the landscaping, replace the small planters crowded in the entryway corners with larger, lower ones flanking the entry area, add something green on the left to continue/balance the line of the hedge on the right, and add a boldly geometric walkway? (A more contemporary garage door someday would also enhance the modern feel.)

I agree completely with Simplynatural. As long as the hedge is kept in shape I like it. This is a geometric, modern building, not a country cottage. Have some height to the left. Otherwise keep it simple.
