Thank you, peren.all! It does seem to match a thornless ’honey locust’. I’ve never seen one around here before so I will try to make a point of observing it in its various seasonal changes.

I don't see any of the typical fruit pods. There seems to be something roundish bottom right in the first picture which could be fruits. There are also lots of round looking things on the ground under the tree. Can you investigate those and get pix?

Often the planted varieties of thornless honeylocust are also seedless, to satisfy the "messy" criticisms.

Floral, I looked around and saw nothing like seedpods, berries, etc. Just leaves. I think that the roundish things in the first pic are the silvery undersides of turned or furled leaves. We’ve been in drought watch conditions and the stuff on the ground is leaf litter. Some trees have been dropping leaves early due to lack of rain.

You are most welcome party_music50 It is rare that I even attempt a tree ID. When I was a young girl growing up in Ottawa we had a G. t. 'Sunburst' and it was really lovely.
