I was going to say that, judging by your zone and the trees in your picture, you probably are in the northeast or the midwest and experience winter. That means that before you start planting grasses you need to figure out where some new trees and shrubs need to go so that your house will have Curb Appeal 12 months out of the year instead of five or six months. Some of these trees and shrubs should be Evergreen--at least the shrubs. (I would not recommend a tall evergreen tree for one story house like yours.)

I would start by talking to a local Nursery that has actual designers on the premises.

After you get a basic design for the permanent new trees and shrubs, you can plan some beds for grasses or perennials in front of them or among them. Think about softening the corners and hiding the foundation with evergreens. The one on the corner should be taller and then you could have some flowy lower evergreens across the foundation. If there are two high windows to the right of the front door, you could plant a small deciduous tree or a large flowering shrub like a lilac or viburnum in between them.

A long planter under the large window on the left could hold perennials and/or grasses. There's potential for an interesting entry garden around the steps.

What I would do.

Remove the current rails and add steps and a walkway directly from the front door to the sidewalk using your inspo photos for design.

Leave the driveway access path as is and redo the rails including both sets of steps.

Cover the foundation on the right with shrubs and bushes and make the tops somewhat level along the house to downplay the slope. The tilted plant pot isn't helping.

Plant two deciduous lawn shade trees, one on on each side, for shade in summer and sun in winter.
