Is this a DIY project or are you having them professionally refinished?

Its your choice of either satin or semi gloss. Some people like more gloss, some people do not. If this is a diy paint job, remember you need a special paint to paint cabinets, and there is a whole lot of prep to be done before they can be painted. A cleaning with tsp, to make sure you do not have any spots of kitchen grease, is your first step. All doors and drawers must be removed, It must be sanded well, despite what some say about using a gloss remover and no sanding. Then its a good sealing bonding type primer, and a very light sanding after thats dry, and 2-3 coats of a good quality paint that is especially for cabinets, not regular interior type house paints. Its not a quick job, it can take a very long time, if you are doing them correctly.
