I can assure you , you need structural engineer to the site: ) That is going to be a load bearing wall at that peninsula, and I'd bet the ranch on it.

A floor plan of the entire living floor, ........note where the garage entry is......mud room if any. All of this is necessary to advise.

Pretend you had a designer in your kitchen ? What would she see? Answer is ALL of it and what surrounds the kitchen.

I agree are you asking as a contractor or a home owner. Those walls I bet are doing a job in the space like holding up the roof . Of course we need a to scale floor plan not just of this space but the rest of the space too. Buehl has a great idea for reading and then providing the info we need.

What is your budget for changes? Just the average basic like for like, with no expansion, structural changes, or relocation, is 80-100K. If you want to do all of the above, then you are easily doubling your budget, without even choosing upscale anything.

You can straighten out the peninsula. Your options are limited if you are on slab.

Yes the owners just painted the concrete. May have run out of money when building the home. Installing flooring throughout home.

Found blueprints. They are old and they reversed it.

I wouldn't waste my time with even paying a visit to this house that only wants the moon, and the sun, and the stars. Not without some concrete answer of the hundreds of thousands in budget they are able to spend to remake half of it. All kinds of pie in the sky structural and systems changes will never earn a dollar back in added value.
