It would bother the hell out of me if I had been so thoughtful as to design around it, have a template that worked, and then was ignored. People can be idiots.

Structurally, is there a risk for further cracking because it is placed on a high traffic area?

When you are in your kitchen, using it daily, the whole lovely space put together, can you mentally let it slide? I'm sure the fabricator hopes you can. Do you have the mental bandwidth to fight this? And if you do, I presume it means finding a new slab. Will you find one you like as much as this?

I’ve been looking for another slab that would match for 2 months and havent found anything (I should add this is not the U.S. and in two months there have only been about 6 slabs to see among all of the local suppliers). I‘m leaning towards accepting it and hoping it bothers me less over time. Because I’m laser kight focused on it, I’ve been curious to know if it stands out as much to others, or not at all)

Better the devil you know. Taj is full of fissures. ALL Taj. That looks pretty minimal, and is in no danger of separating. You can easily go from the frying pan to the fire in that regards.

The stuff couldn't be fabricated or transported without mesh. Fissures are the nature of this beast. Anything else is asking a lion to be vegetarian.

It would definitely bother me. If you cant find any other taj countertop, maybe its time to look for a different counter top. I wouldnt want to take a chance on it breaking either.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC Thank you. Is there a particular superglue or other product you recommend which won’t yellow? That area gets absolutely blasted with sun for about 3 hours per day.

Pic #1, is that a 2" backsplash? If so that would bother me an heck of a lot more than that fissure.

@millworkman No, no, no. That’s the left side of the FRAME for the backsplash which is waiting for me to get over myself before we mount it.

I doubt there is much difference between brands, but I haven't checked. What you're tying to do is keep the fissure from becoming contaminated and level the surface to fool your eye.

There is nothing wrong with that fissue, either in appearance, or in future performance. You can make a sandwich on it just fine.

There is zero chance of that spontaneously breaking. A little glue dribble, and use trivets, and it will be fine. If it were an overhang, I might want it rodded and glued, with steel supports.

So many fissures in Taj - you get used to them. I love my Taj Mahal, fissures and all. Let it go.
