Why not just get some Pax from Ikea and do some drawers and still have hanging space . Post a picture of that space and also measurements of the existing closet

Thanks - I had looked at PAX. The issues with it being the 'toe kick' type area at the bottom, and it just doesn't have a very polished look for appearing to be more of a built-in, given this will be facing the room. Also, at only about 40" of available height, hang space + drawers won't work... I think the closet offers sufficient hang space, but some built in drawers would be good.

I've come to the conclusion I won't find anything pre-built that is likely to work at full depth... the dimensions are a bit difficult. I went back to look at besta, and think doing that with the bottom as 25" height of double drawers, and 15" of cabinet with doors will ultimately look the best. Just bummed it's losing volume due to only being 16" deep. For now, it will probably work.

I'll check online for ideas of how to make them look built-in, so I get it framed right.

Yes, there are tons of tutorials on how to make IKEA cabinets appear built in. Can't wait to see the after photos!

For the open shelving, I'd saw the uprights to the size of the ceiling and attach the top of the shelving to the upright sides with wood pieces or just attach the uprights to the ceiling.

Thanks, I had considered running shelving to the ceiling, but when I mocked it up in CAD, I didn't it looked very good. The room already has enough jankiness to it based on the construction with dormers above the garage, and odd ceiling profiles. So, I'm trying to keep things clean. I am thinking with the ikea cabinets, I will migrate from open shelf to cabinet for the top spaces, because they don't look too stellar inside.

I ahve a whole wall od Pax clsets lots of room for hanging and drawers but how high are your ceilings . Who will use this bedroom ? I love mine they look great function well and give me nice matching wall of cabinets.

My daughter until I finish the house, then likely a renter in a 1-bedroom in-law quarters type situation. Ceiling slopes as shown above from about 7'-9" down to about 6'. It is definitely unique. Out from the closet about 18" there is a dormer where the ceiling is higher. That whole built in assembly on the right is only around 40" tall. My wife just picked up the besta... 25" vertical with two drawers left and right, then cabinet with doors for the top 15". It's the closest I could get and have to get the framing going.
