Fireplace room make over

I am looking to decorate this space, I think the fireplace is gorgeous but I cannot figure out how to make this room more cozy, should I do something with the cabinets? Also, I tried to install blinds but there is not enough room to add them and I'm uncertain were to hang the rod for the curtains or which type of curtains will fit the space.
I want this space to enjoy the fire, read a book have a cup of tea or have a nice chat with a close friend.

I would do inside mount roman shades on the windows. Get a rug. Probably 8x10. Center it on FP and get 2 comfy swivel chairs and face them to the FP. Add a table between the chairs for your tea cup. Add some plants.

Try inside mount Roman shades on the windows. Then look at adding a rug, coffee table, side tables, and two swivel chairs to the space. Add artwork and plants and decor items and then you should be done. Below are a few visuals to aid you more with your dilemma.
