Scrub Daddy - What is it?

Yes, I have seen them everywhere. What's the big deal? What makes them different from other sponges? Do you use them? Are there any added chemicals to them that makes them different from other sponges?

I worked with someone whose son was with the company and she would give them to us at Christmas. They are various degrees of coarseness, and they are hard when dry and get when wet so there are various ways to use the same one; some are double sided, and they dry quickly and completely and don't stink like plain sponges or sponges with a green or white scrub pad on one side (unless you run them through the DW). And they seem to last fairly indefinitely.

We’ve have them but they are Scrub mommys. They are flower shaped instead of round. Meh. Not a fan. I’ve got one in my sink currently along with a regular Quickie scrub sponge and always reach for the Quickie sponge. The scrub mommys feel a little unwieldy for my smaller hands. They are also harder to get into smaller spaces on items. The Quickie sponges we have have some sortof antimicrobial protection and do not get smelly.

A scrub daddy just fell into my disposer and is no more. It would have lasted forever. I didnt like that it was a face with HOLES for eyes and mouth. so I was using a sponge with holes. But the corse texture was great.

So the texture is supposed to be the selling point?

We don't use them in the kitchen really, we use brushes mostly. We use them for the utility sink stuff in the basement.

They were a "Shark Tank" find.....invented in 2012. Home Depot had them, we tried one. It's OK. Yes the texture scrubs without scratching.

Scrub Daddy lover here. I even have the holder in our sink so it has a home and place to dry. The mouth slit is cleaning knives. The texture does great at cleaning the hard things off of plates, LeCrueset, etc. The can be cleaned by a trip thru the dw. They last a fairly long time, maybe 6 months or more, before they get downgraded to bathroom or outside projects.

They are in our kids stockings every Christmas as we all use them. QVC has a sale on them in December and i purchase for the year at that point for all of us.

I keep one for cleaning my stainless kitchen sink, works well on anything that’s ”stuck on”, doesn’t scratch it. They seem to last a long time.

I never use sponges, so I guess I don't understand the appeal, either. Someone gave me a box of them years ago and they're still in a cabinet somewhere. I need to pass them on....

I could use a course option than brushes or sponges-- but i can't deal with the face. 😳

If you can’t tolerate the typical SD colors, Crate & Barrel has a neutral one!

Funkyart …. I think the “face” is a big part of it’s success.

I've seen Halloween themed SD's at our local grocery store. I've never tried one.

I love them and have used the product since seeing it at our local hardware store. i was delighted when i saw the Shark tank episode.

i like the fact they dint hold water, dry quickly and can go thru the DW.

the smile is for knives, big spoons, et etc.
