I often use BM Healing Aloe cut up to 50% for a true neutral and works well with every wood tome in my experience For me beiges and creams are not ideal neutrals often and have undertones that conflict with wood tones . The 50% cut is barely a color at all just neutral

BM Pale Oak is too gray, interiors are moving on from gray.

Pale Oak has pink undertones and is beautiful with red tones of Brazilian Cherry. It is a taupe (mix of beige and gray with violet or pink undertones) vs a true gray and still quite popular.

You need the wall color to work with your floors, doors and trim, cabinets and countertops and furnishings.

I like cherry with both taupe and cream colors and some greige colors (mix of beige and gray with green undertones).

What is going to drive the decision is all the other colors and finishes in your home. Does your sofa look better with taupe or cream, does your trim and doors look better with cream or taupe . . .
