Sorry where is the sliding door ? If you mean the space between the dark drapes you need nothing there but that wall where you have a mirror that does not belong is the wall where you need art in fact 2 pieces IMO one to the left fro the dining space and another for the wall where the mirror is now but over to the right a bit . The room is not inviting and the drapes are just not good at all. Can you post pics of the whole space that of course depends on if you want help with anything else

Are the drapes always closed? What color are they? They look too dark against those light walls. Art & maybe a LARGE live plant would add some interest. I’d remove the mirror.

I would probably want to use that empty space more too. How wide is it? Could it be a little sitting area with two chairs and a small table or a cozy ready spot that faces the slider?

These are just suggestions! But would create a black/white/ash geometric base design, then add color! Have FUN and try out a few things in online room designer sites! ❤️

Sorry to descent but I think this is a better layout for your room.

I'm sure you want to face the TV but IMO it's better to face the TV in your own lounge chair/recliner than sitting on a sofa with others.

I don't think the rug you have selected works with your floor and furnishings.

I agree this is better Beverly. But it also depends how the space is sued. If it’s primarily watching tv the best spot is now not getting a great view of the tv
