Does anyone have experience with the Hay Rey chair?

last month

We are considering purchasing a set of Hay's Rey chairs for our dining room. We love the colors they come in and they look easy to clean. We don't have access to a show room so can't see or try them in person. Any firsthand reviews?

Pricey for sure . They look pretty cool but at that price I would want to sit in one . Do you have DWR store they carry them at least in Canada you might get lucky there . I did not go to the but that is DWR

We have a DWR store close to where I live. I’ve ordered several products from them, not these chairs however. I agree you should test them out first. In my experience I’ve found DWR’s customer service & returns lacking, to put it mildly. IDK where you live, but you might want to consider something from Room & Board. Their customer service & return policies are the BEST , no questions asked, if you’re not happy with something you’ve purchased they will pick it up & immediately refund your $. If no store nearby, order online.

Unfortunately the DWR store near us does not carry these chairs. Thank you for the tip re: Room & Board!

Do you really LIKE sitting in chairs with no back support? Everyone’s different, I know. You see interesting-looking chairs. But all I see is pain. At DWR prices, it will take years to get your money’s worth. Will your back hold out that long?

DWR’s customer service is absolutely chaotic. It took them three tries to ship us three matching counter stools. (hint: counter and bar height are *not* the same thing!) Hive carries a lot of the same stuff and the one time I’ve dealt with them (having finally given up on DWR) they were great to deal with.

I can’t say enough nice things about Room and Board. We’ve ordered many pieces - both upholstered and case goods - from them over the years and they’re all excellent quality. Most of their things are made in the US, too. Their delivery crews are top notch.

@theotherjaye ….. “chaotic” is the perfect description. I lost count of # of times I had to contact them to complete a simple order of “Bullet planters”, they kept sending multiple boxes of the stands, no planter inserts, the stands were arriving almost everyday, I lost count of the #. My poor FedEx or UPS driver ( forget which ) finally took pity on me & labeled & returned them for me. Nightmare.

I deal with DWR in Canada and have always had great customer service . I needed a part for a 14 yr old stool from Spain they got it in 2 weeks to my home in a tiny town

Guess DWR can handle getting parts for old products, it’s the new products they can’t manage, or warranty….. I’ve had too many issues to list, gave up. Neighbors have had same experience…

That chair has a flat hard seat. It may not be that comfortable. If you decide for more comfort, Ikea Bergmund Link is very comfortable when I sat in it. It has a removable fabric cover you can wash or replace for $20. Which means you can have covers made by a shop in any color.
