Cabinet color help

last month

Please help me decide on a paint color for these cabinets from either Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore

As you can see, the cabinets are ivory and to me, at least it totally clashes with the countertop

What colors would you suggest for the cabinets that could match more of a warm and cool tone together?

Changing the stone is not an option at this time

The whole area is so brownish everywhere. I dont know your favorite colors, but, I would pick a lighter shade of a brighter color that you really like and paint the wall in the living room, that leads to the door. I would paint the cabinets, the same color as the wall, but, please use cabinet paint and paint the cabinets properly, or they will end up a peeling mess. Cabinet painting is a lot of work, and the prep and paint must be exactly right.

The prep work will take considerably longer than the painting, remember that. And that "rounded" trim on the door panels will be a bear to prep.

i wouldnt paint the cabinets for a few reasons. I'd install a green backsplash ,,,the existing backsplash is not cohesive w anything.....you could use some color

Are you painting the cabinets yourself? This is a gigantic job to get the equivalent of a factory finish on any cabinet, but especially on these. Get a pro to do the same will cost more than new counters.

What color is your trim painted? Consider using that color or one just a bit warmer.

I wouldn't invest the 13-15K to put a new finish on that very detailed kitchen without replacing the doors to something simpler in style.

Cooler colors but more saturated hues might make your space feel more grounded. I like both Drift of Mist (gray) and Ibis White for their ability to pull color from your counters and work well with your floors. Consider getting sample pots so you can paint big swaths of cabinetry and see how the colors change as your light changes through the day. I had my office painted Ibis White and at different times of day I get beautiful undertones. That paint color is magic.

I don’t think the ivory cabinets are the problem, and as people have already said, repainting cabinets properly is not an easy task. The backsplash looks off to me— too heavy and yellow-beige. Could you start there instead?

You would get a better bang for your buck with new backsplash (as others have said) AND general wall color. I think the wall color and your cabinets are the things that are off. Not the cabinet color and counters. If you tell us exactly what the cabinet color is now we can suggest wall color and backsplash tile options.
