Short of a total re do of vanity? Replace the top with a solid surface, get an under mount sink in the new top

There is plenty of wood, without the cut the room in half chair rail. Paint chair rail out and use WALL COLOR on it, not white, the white just makes the room jumpy and unfinished.

Frankly, it's a great candidate for a wallpaper!

Post a couple pictures of the adjacent room? Show ALL the rest of the bath as well.

Ok- for those still playing along here's the full space. I'm open to wallpaper -maybe just on the main walls and behind the toilet? but would need it to not be flowers. For wall color would you try to pull in green or more of a brown tone? And for the countertop here and behind the bar, beige/tan tones?
