I had an alcove on another bathroom I did. had about 10" after the vanity was in place. I ended up running the vanity top all the way to the wall and did some shelving on the side of the vanity,,

(this was done 15 yrs ago, so ignore the style/design!)

Keep the tower at the far end. I like Beth‘s example with the shelving. Otherwise, WestCoast’s suggestion of just a trash receptacle could work…if you found one narrow enough. Not sure you need anything there with just 8”. Open space can be a good thing.

Beth - Yes the drawing isn't great, apologies - it was whipped up kind of quickly. That is a beautiful bathroom btw. Seeing the open end where the vanity is in your pic doesnt bother me as much, now that I have a visual. I love your choices of materials in the bathroom you did. It's beautiful. The shelf idea ran through my mind too! Thanks again.

Would suggest a filler panel to match your vanity. Also like the idea of narrow shelving as another poster showed abve for towel storage.

You don't need the 8"! at the bottom next to vanity Disappear! make the upper lovely and useful and "invisible"..side access please?

STUDS AND DRYWALL!! 8" wide, floor up to ceiling

See here below...picture it 15 or 16" wide, and as tall as you like. It's RIGHT side of the vanity and 6"deep...your counter top runs right into that 8" of drywall, right of the vanity,...yup drywall!

Why? It gives you an obvious "niche"

It gives you a right wall side wall with an opportunity for a nice deep recessed, shelved spot, above the counter, at least 15 " wide (Your counter top is 21" apr front to back ) and as tall as you'd like to make it! maybe glass shelves? Or a few solid surface shelves? Set the first shelf high enough, put the gfi in there and hide the dryer or the tooth brush!

Put small trash cans under your sink bases, as I have YET to see a bath can not filled with a hideous little plastic bag, dental floss, and snotty tissue!......even the cleaning lady "bags" the prettiest little trash can. Why bother? : ( lol

Filler to wall by linen tower then filler to the vanity then filler on the far wall will take up all the inches you have OR get a wider tower.

If you are putting the linen tower on the left and a towel bar there, the door of the tower won't open fully unless it's open shelves. Just double check that!

I will also be stealing the comment about the cat and the cheese wrapper!! LOL!

If you haven't started shower construction, I would consider making the shower 36 to 42 inches instead of 4 feet so that the path behind the sink is wider for two people at the sinks.
