I would like to know how they constructed the cantilever over the entrance way.

    Hello Stephen,
Thanks so much for asking! If you're referring to the roof, it has been extended out. If you mean the area directly above the entrance door, it features two posts and beams that support the cantilever.

Thanks but that doesn't quite answer my question. I have been a builder and remodeling contractor for 50 years and I am interested in how the framing is stable enough to support such a structure. Any chance I can see the plans for this?

I get the post and beam but there is a lot of weight hanging out there. It would seem to me the load barring beams or ridge beam would have to be long enough to go back much farther than they extend.

Very beautiful home and I love the design.

    Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hello Stephen,

With extensive geo-engineering, coupled with civil engineering the plan was accomplished.

    Hope this helps

Well I guess I will never ask a question of you folks again. What a terrible answer!! Maybe there is something you are hiding or you think you discovered something new under the sun. In any case I will be deleting Houzz from my email.

    Thanks for nothing.....!!
