I got these peonies at WF (alert @funkyart !) but they are not the theme at all so have been relegated to the K where the chef (me) gets to enjoy them.

My DR table was very last minute. I love Hester and Cook paper placemats and I love my tortoise flatware! I consider these my "Jojo" plates since she convinced me to buy them.

PS i find a reason to use all my china, but I hear you about the guilt!

Ooohhh Hester & Cook - never heard of those - I'll be picking some up for Christmas. I'll post a photo of my eclectic mix of lake cabin dinner/tableware later after I set it. I wait until the last minute to minimize the risk of cat hair wafting in on it.

Speaking of China - next year I'm going to use mine after making a road trip to drive it and some other things to SC when we sell our city house in MN. No one wants that kind of thing anymore and I still like it so it's coming here.

Im using my mom’s Spode china. Pattern is Peplow. I love it.

Here’s last years table which is identical to this year. Not super fancy. I have to put a semi sheer curtain on the window so people dont see their reflection while eating!

I also use the Christmas glasses because why not.

Here is one of mine. Nothing fancy like some of you.

This is the 'kids' table which is really the young adult table. The old folks will be at the kitchen table, and the real kids (age 10 and under) will be at a large card table in the foyer.

It used to be the old folks got the dining room, and the "kids" got the kitchen. But there are less old folks now :-( and the kids way outnumber the oldies, so the kids now get the dining room (and they love that).

I love the look of not using a table cloth and seeing the table but it makes me nervous. I mean my table is nothing fancy/expensive so maybe I need to get over it next year.

Yeah, I should iron the table cloth. It hangs on the hanger from the cleaners all year. I'm just too lazy.

Pretty! Love the paint color BTW. Are your glasses upside down? I was at an outdoor restuarant once where the glasses were places upside down, and had a flower on top. To keep bugs out, and look pretty before you inverted it. I stole the idea, have a pic of it somewhere...

Yesterday, about 5 AM, while waiting for the dogs to come back from morning potty, I had a lovely inspiration for my holiday table. I was so excited about it, and gathered all the inspiration pieces so the colors would top of mind when I went to the thrift stores in town, and then to get some fabric, and the last of the veggies for dinner.

I needed horse feed, so after I did barn chores, I went straight to Tractor Supply without changing clothes. Got in the truck to leave TSC, trucky-no-starty. ACCKK!! Called DH, my knight in shining armor, who came and jumped started it, then took it to Nissan, because it has the CPO extended warranty.

Took DH's Subaru to the grocery store, then he called and I had to go pick him up, because they had to do some 3 hour test on the truck.

Here is where I gave up. Everyone is welcome to come for dinner, but we are having PB&J, and you need to bring your own bread.....

ETA: The tables are just gorgeous! I am green with envy.

I am skipping the decor and keeping setup, meal, clean up and waste to a minimum. I am still using my silver and old china but no tablescape nor linens. Had a hard week. a great friend was run over by a truck while she was sleeping in her bed at 2:00am on Sunday. She survived but has a brain bleed, severe spinal injury and broken bones and I am in quite a funk and having a hard time celebrating this holiday.

I love your table Roarah! And your chairs and DR.

@jsk, My mom taught me to use the silver, use the china, and bare the wood! If not now, when?

A friend just sent me her table with this sentiment, and I am now doing the same with my friends. Great idea, no?

Thankyou Mtn. I hope so too. Also you complement on my table makes me feel better about no linens because it is actually two tables pushed together and i was feeling bad about it looking off, I usually hide the different wood finishes with at least placemats or runners, but had no desire to iron linens this week.

We're having our Thanksgiving on Saturday so I'm enjoying all the table settings now - both with and without linens. It all looks so festive!

Fun - your place setting is one of my favorites. I bought the small tray last year and I will probably buy 2 place settings. I certainly don't need another full set of dishes but that would be all DH and I need. And it would work well with my everyday dishes.

Roarah - I am so sorry to read about your friend. That is just so awful. I hope she achieves a full recovery.

Such pretty Thanksgiving table settings and lovely dining rooms and dinettes. My husband and I enjoyed dinner with my daughter and her family. All 3 kids are home from school so lots of laughs and stories were had.

Nothing photoworthy really in terms of tablescapes but we had a super good time again with DH’s cousin’s family, 13 of us playing Farkle. (Between dinner and dessert.)

We are big on games but have not tried Farkle. Adding to my list. And from your photo, i can certainly see that it was a rollicking good time! 🤣

We played Sticky Golf ..... in the... living room. More fun than I expected. Pictured, not my living room. Not my people. Our dinners are black tie. The slides would be ok tho.

Oh and of course Mahjong! I have Mahjong elbow now I think.

At my DB & SIL’s beach house in the Florida panhandle. This is their holiday table. We had a great time - it’s unseasonably cold here so we spent time outside by the fireplace sipping Bailey’s and catching up.

Now I'm sad I didn't take a picture of my table. I was so busy trying to finish everything that it didn't occur to me. First time hosting Thanksgiving and actually the first time I've ever hosted enough people to use the table leaves. Finally have space for it in this house.

Mtn, we played Farkle last year too. I find it hard to follow, so I make sure to sit next to someone who can tutor me. It gets very loud in our group! Just a lot of enthusiasm. You can win and lose thousands of points within one turn.
