I like the Chat photos. I especially like that the chair is gone.

I am not a user of AI so I find its frequent use of the first person pronoun and strong opinions very weird. i guess this is just the first hint that AI plans to kill us and redecorate our homes. Back off, Claude!

I’m not sure that it is understanding that you have already created whimsy and interest. Its creation with the mirror is pretty, but don’t you have a mirror in the vestibule (who else has a vestibule anymore)? And your current vignette is much more interesting.

I’m thinking a little rug will chop up the space muchly.

What i like about the AI pics is the use of fewer, but more substantial pieces.

I like what you have done, but it is fun to try new options. Sometimes AI can be wonky, but in your case it offered doable options.

Love the flamingo and Id never replace it, except seasonally as you mentioned. Your floors are gorgeous, so I am on the fence about covering them with a rug.

I kind of abree that the chair should go, although I love your Hi pillow. That chair would be covered with coats and mail in my house.

If I had a chair placed like that in my foyer - it would be a place to drop coats/packages/my purse/etc. It would be so convenient to put items on the chair - so, I would have to remove it!

I love your house - it has so much character. I also like your flamingo photo. Changing it out seasonally is fun vs. having the same piece of art that is hung there for years (unless that art is something special).

I think Chatty has some interesting ideas. Your foyer has such wonderful architectural features that it needs very little added to make it sing. Maybe it's time to take another look for a small console table for that one wall or you could have a built-in added which is what I did. I regret that I didn't add an outlet at the same time, but I'm using a rechargeable lamp and that's working out okay.

BTW, did the pillow covers work for you or did you decide you didn't like them? You never said.

Your entry has it all already! Classic architicture, great colors, rug and whimsy! I love the hall as it is better than the AI generated changes.

It’s a beautiful front hall! Just for a zhuzh I would try an area rug and it would soften noise also. The table/“stool” is really nice but a larger table like AI showed would be more useful (and something to shop for!) If the chair isn’t there to sit on it should go.

I guess in early days there might have been a round table in the center?

Well, hard to say which view should be the focus. Almost no one comes in our front door. Friends and family come in the back door. But we pass through this area a lot throughout the day.

It would be nice to have a mirror somewhere — the mirror in the vestibule is great but it means, if I need to check myself when answering the door, I have to do it when standing in front of the front door, which has a window, so that’s a little awkward.

I am late so going to pile on with Mtn, Feathers and everyone else who said that AI sucked out all the Sueb whimsy and character. Still, there are a few good suggestions ...

I think a more substantial table to replace the round one makes sense. I like the direction you are going with your examples. I like the second one painted in a you color.

I am on the fence with the chair -- it isnt used but I lean to keeping it only because I love the pillows and they are so "you".

I am liking this, although it isn’t much bigger than the ”stool” — it is same height and depth, and about 3” wider. It could be pretty and more fun painted in a color.

if it were me, I might remove the chair just to open the space up a bit, I’d also put a little lamp on the radiator shelf to cozy up the space in the winter (there are lots of great cordless options now if there is no plug) but i love the welcoming feel of it

It is a very tricky spot. The perfect size would be about 24w x 34h x 10d. Odd duck size.

If you didn’t do a thing your foyer would still look welcoming and great. I’d probably move the chair first, especially if you have another spot for it and the pillows.

You didn’t mention this, but could the ’stool’, which I love btw, be moved to the corner on the right of the landing, (replacing the small chair of course)? I have faith that you will find perfect table. I too like the second console, just in a smaller version and different finish. Maybe it’s the drawers and hardware, but it seems to be worth looking for if you can’t find a demi-lune table.

The lamp should be easy enough to find. I saw a green glass one in a WalMart ad that looked pretty. I put it on an order for delivery but got a sold out notice. It was less than $20. I love different rugs that add a warmth to a space. Your idea of trying one in winter will perhaps be a nice change.

I heard a new term a few days ago and it could apply to some of your Chatty results. AI=Artificial Ignorance. I’ve had that experience with it for sure.

Well this lamp isn’t quite right but I happen to have it so I plopped it there just to see. The table needs to be re-painted but I like the way it feels here. Also, I like my birds nest too much to replace it with a mirror.

DH and I are both struggling with the No Chair idea, but will give it a day or two.

Something more substantial on top of the radiator might help? I know the ceramic flowers are tiny but they’re special and I wanted to put them where I’d see them a lot.

The windsor chair is a good choice as its a bit lighter than the wicker but still folkloric and seems to get along with everything in the entry. (yay preservation of HI).

Today's changes all work for me.

Mtn, I did try that at first but it didn’t look right. I am dabbling with a few things, including maybe a plant. I used to have a plant in a rectangular black planter on the radistor and it survived for a long time in spite of the lack of light and the heat from the radiator…until it eventually didn’t. But I did like the look.

Love your new table, nice work! I agree that the nest is fab. The new chair echoes the radiator lines and reinforces the black accents you have going on in the room. Though I do also like the old one.

Lamps are always welcome, nothing like another pool of light. Looking forward to seeing what you find for that.

Two thoughts. One, I know this is controversial but I would hang the nest art lower. I think when you have art over a table, it should relate more to the table. To create a cohesive vignette over a table, hang the bottom of your artwork 6 to 10 inches above the tabletop (or the top of the furniture piece) so the art and the objects below connect as a single vertical unit.

Secondly, I'd take your smaller art pieces and group them somehwere else. I think the mismatched scales doesn't highlight them enough. And if you like seeing the ceramic flowers, would the K sink windowsill work too? I think you'd see them more.

My first thought was the same as mtn, the art needs to be lower. Then I would move the lamp to the left, put a stack of books with a small decor item on top. Maybe a bowl or your vase of flowers? I know you said its not really your style, but maybe worth a try?

100% agree on the art height but I was waiting to see what I actually put on the table (size wise) first.

If you lower the bird nest art to where it connects to the lamp, I think that would be sweet with the new table. Nice find!
