I'd need more quotes. Are these quotes for slabs you've identified or reserved? Slab price can vary a lot based on veining and other characteristics. Stone suppliers in your area include UMI, Granite Depot, Maia Stone, Ace Granite and others. When you visit these places, you can ask for the names of fabricators they frequently have worked with and for how long. This will give you more sources for quotes. I would what to choose the slabs, determine the cut layouts and seaming before any cuts are made. And require inspection before delivery and installation. Walmart can print pictures of each slab from your phone so you can get the layout look from the slabs you want. The layout OK and inspection provisions should be written into your contract with the fabricator. Written in ink additions to a contract initialed by both parties will control. Marked up picture copies can be part of the contract. A fabricators provisions as in the first example are meant to only protect him. Not you. The marble you've listed will scratch, etch and stain easily, unlike quartzite.

The double sink is not common. Sink directly opposite the cooktop is not advised because two users will bump into each other. Layout help is available if you want suggestions.

The most important decision is NOT who has the lowest cost. It is who will do the best job with some pretty premium stone. The MOST important factor in getting a good result, is a good fabricator.

Ask what trade industry associations they belong to? MIA, SFA, ISFA, BSI, etc. What about continuing education? What was the title of their last seminar? What industry trade shows do they attend. The only wrong answer is none.

Do they have their work anywhere public they can see? (Many have it on display in commercial projects, kitchen and bath showroom, or have a showroom at the shop)

What is their process? Minimum is they offer basic advice about suitable wholesalers to shop, advice on specific stones, discuss seam placement preference, overhang supports, and allows you to view and discuss the template placement on the slab.)

What fabrication machinery do they use? (CNC, or water jet are acceptable, angle grinder snd cutting in site are not)

Can you view the fabrication shop? (should be a OSHA approved WET fabrication shop, with zero dry cutting or polishing, and everyone wearing goggles, respirator, and hearing protection. Just google silicosis and quartz to understand why.)

What is your process if my home is damaged? What risks am I responsible for dealing with? (Liability insurance if they drop it and ruin your wood floor, but your responsibility for touching up paint)

What if I have an issue with the install? Who do I call? ( wrong color being delivered, or wrong seam location—DO NOT LET THEM INSTALL IT!)

Do you have a follow up procedure for repairing chips? What is the charge for that? (Chips are not warrantied by any manufacturer or fabricator, but many good fabricators will do a fill or file the first year. And charge after that.)

Seems to be too much stone overload of a very busy stone. Everything else has better be simple plain jane super modern slab doors etc. Especially with a waterfall. The waterfall and full height splash fad is way overdone and just looks silly and wrong in about 85% of kitchens.

But the pricing on the first seems to be low for that level of material.

    Thank you, great information

@KT what would you suggest as backsplash if not stone, cabinets are white oak flat panel

From doing projects in CA and FL, I found that a good rule of thumb was that the total price of a countertop project was roughly twice the cost of the slabs, so in your case 4 slabs at $24k x 2 = $48k.

This usually works best when you know the "real" cost of the stone slabs upfront. In FL my GC purchased my quartzite slabs at his cost and then he found a fabricator to just quote labor.

If you want to reduce costs. Get rid of the waterfall on the sides of the island, which should eliminate one slab.

For the price you are paying for slabs ... the kitchen layout seems underwhelming.

Honestly, that’s a small builder grade DR Horton tract type layout, and it doesn't deserve 50K of stone. Or 100K of white oak cabinets. Filling it with far too expensive decorative options for it’s actual bones isn’t going to make it into a luxury build either.

The actual home design is a problem if you want an upscale build. It’s very lacking in design.

Not a DR Horton track build, but thank you for your input

I would serious rethink waterfall given your layout and your stone. And waterfall + splash in this stone, certainly not.

Yes, very lacking. There isn’t even a built in fridge shown. This should go back to the drawing board.

Thank you guys for your input, you would have to see the beauty of the house to understand, i was inquiring about price

of quote being inline with standards not the design of the house and anyone’s opinion about what it should and should

    and should not have

Is that really their name? Cointertops? They have a typo on their own invoice....?

No it’s definitely a typo, i noticed that as well

    Thank you for that

Ask for feedback on a countertop invoice and folks here will tell you the sheen on your doorknob is wrong. I'm guilty of it too. :)

    lol, l see that

People posting see a lot of budget and are offering to match the entire project to a high functional level when potential improvements are clear. Based on experience you may not yet have. You get to make all the decisions. Your money going out. Your finished project.

    Thank you,

I’m not looking to change the layout, just add things that i like

I was more concerned that the whole thing is AI. Bots are wrecking Facebook and Reddit and it is creeping over here too. I suppose the fact that the home address is visible should have clued me in. 😄 (Gregory, you may want to blur that....up to you of course.)

i know i tried to delete it initially because i realized the address was on there, but couldn’t

I believe I have heard you can't easily delete or change things from the app. I know I can modify/delete things I've posted from the desktop version. Good luck!
