Kitchen table/chair decisions

Question: Does the scale of the new round table work and the x back chairs. Back story: Originally needed chairs only. Love the ones I had, but the little nailheads rusted on the fabric when i cleaned them. The table is antique (42x60) not correct size. breakfast area is 10x10. Decided antique table is going, but bought the X back bistros to go with, until i find a new table and to get away from fabric in the kitchen. Decided to try a 42” round. Something feels off with it though. Scale of table? Is it not chunky enough, or needs something to soften all the wood. Deciding if i should look for larger table (44-48” or a chunkier 42”round) or different chairs? Kitchen cabinets, back splash and countertops updating next year. Pictures show antique table before with linen chairs, after with x back chairs and then new table with both. i know it’s crowded with old fabric chairs around and with wooden chairs. I put them there to get a visual of chairs that might soften the look. Won’t stay that way. Considering some fabric slip cover to type that can be removed to clean or fabric on seat only that is easier to clean

i asked AI to generate these changes to get a visual wondering if bulkier table looks better?

IMO the biggest thing off is the chandelier .and I like those bistro chairs with the pedestal table in the pic with the blue loveseat

Thank you Patricia! I’ll consider the chandelier issue. So you think the 42” table I ordered with the x back bistro chairs works as far as size and scale?

I have narrowed down 3 tables and having a hard time choosing. I like them all. I think I need to decide which works best. I like different things about each one. I think all 3 are timeless and not trendy. Both pedestal tables are 42” the one with dark pedestal is a 6in drop leaf on either side if needed. I like that element but it also bothers me. 42” feels great for extra space around the table but small for center piece. The dark base top feels a little thin as looks go, but maybe that is good maybe it adds an airy lighter feeling. I’m used to thicker heavier tops with apron. The rustic one feels weighty which I do like. The one with 4 legs is 44” and painted light gray base. Feels nice and a little more grounded looking and have 2” more space. Room is 10x10

Ignore the rug just trying out rugs.

I like the lighter table with the padded chairs. Third from the bottom of the photos.
Look for the rug after this decision. Your chairs and pads are very neutral. The rug will be a nice statement.

I like the simplicity of the last photo with the darker brown rug. The legs of the light brown table combined with the chair legs makes for a busy look.

The table with 4 legs came today. The legs said grey but the grey has a green undertone. Kind of a French Grey i suppose. I really like the weight of this table and it’s solid! The 44” feels better to me with scale and room at the table. I’m not super excited about the green undertone. With a light right rug i think I’ll like it better. The raw rustic table comes in a few days. I’ll be deciding which to keep, between the 2, but have decided the dark pedestal isn’t the one to keep. The table with 4 legs comes in the same color on the legs and apron as the dark pedestal. i could go that route to get away from the green, but i was wanting a casual feel so thinking the 4 legged table with dark legs might look more formal or refined? Here’s the table that came today. i will not use this rug in here. Overall greenish undertone but changes depending on daytime. i have greens in my house along with blue, rust, goldish, black and cream. I suppose the French grey can be considered a nuetral?

The legs look black but they aren’t they are very dark stained and you can see wood grain under the stain, not painted black. Here’s a version of the color up close from the pedestal table and this table has the same stain on the legs.
