I'd mount the TV on the wall between the dining area window and the FIreplace

a sectional is fine, just not as oversized as the one shown. I'd look for a micro fiber with a lower profile back and lower arms. Hang any window drapery panels higher above the trim.

Blinds rather than drapery panels so they don't hang over the baseboard heating.

Limit the extra furniture to a long storage credenza, a lot of little things just looks cluttered.

• Turn the dining room table and add a sideboard on the back wall.
• You can place a long bench in front of the window for the dogs so you don't have to share seating with the fur babies.
• You can either select a sofa and two lounge chairs/recliners or an L shaped sectional to face the TV over the fireplace
• If you decide to not keep the TV over the fireplace, you can install it on the wall to the left of the fireplace.

Is this the only room for TV? Recliners take up lots of visual and real space . I dislike sectionals they are IMO the most expensive way to but the least # of comfy seats since armrests = comfort . A sofa and 2 chairs are just better . If you like to put your feet up get ottomans thay can slide under a coffee table or even fill in as extra seats in a pinch . I think the TV is way to high for proper viewing The dogs are another thing . How big are they ? I like the idea of leaving the window space open and maybe a step up or just a cushion on the ledge that way no wear and tear on any furniture .

In the last photo, the sofa is well placed next to the window, I think your dogs will find it comfortable to jump on the windowsill.
