Those look great, but it is much better if you "teach" kids to be adaptable and to learn to sleep in any type of room. We tried all the dark/quiet things with our first kid and it created more problems. Second kid who had to learn to nap/sleep with some noise ended up a much better sleeper.

Yes, but others read these posts too. When I was a first time mom I would have jumped at those full blackout blinds and set up my kids for a lifetime of being difficult sleepers, so just putting it out there for those reading who might want kids, or just had one. Don't teach your kids to only sleep in perfect dark & soundless bedrooms, which are rarely found in real life.

I don’t know we have three kids and they all started sleeping in rooms with blackout shades and sound machines. They are all great sleepers now in their teens and can sleep on rooms with various light and noise. I don’t regret for one minute setting up optimal sleep for home. We all have blackout blinds still in our rooms.

I would be dead on my feet after an all night shift as a nurse, that I do know, and could probably sleep atop a picket fence in full sunshine. !!

But I do agree that beginning early life with the idea that blackout is necessary, and the most minimal light seep would be an issue for anyone? I see this ALL the time and agree that that level of darkness - not being able to find a hand in front of your face? Unnecessary. Also tend to find it is always folks with bedrooms too warm, a window never open on a breezy and pleasantly cool night who favor this. . Coincidentally they're the same folks with repetitive head colds., stuffed up noses, "allergies" and more. A lot of them are clients lol, and I have NO clue how the heck they sleep, I would be suffocated. I won't stay in a hotel that doesn't allow an open window, love nothing more than a fall night with the window wide open,. TEMP 45* outside and snuggled under a down comforter, and a mix of down filled pillows, WITH freshly washed and ironed sheets. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I always joke that while 9 -5 are work hours for many? 9 -5 are my lights out!!! hours.
