white oak scuffs

I feel like I’m going nuts . I keep finding scuffs all over my white oak floors. Brand new with 2 water based poly coats done in March 2024. We have no pets. I wash the floor w damp
Microfiber and a little dawn soap (maybe too often so I’m just trying to dry clean now). What else can I do to prevent these it’s driving me nuts

Update they do get better with a wet cloth then drying - but am I living my life like this forever lol

What kind of shoes are you wearing around the house? I would try wearing something else and making an effort to make sure I’m not dragging my feet while walking.

Yes only 2 poly coats I’m sorry in 2025 it’s been less than a year!!!! We hardly wear any shoes around the house house

Finish looks thin. Could be the water causing the fibers to swell. What your probably seeing is crushed grain. Just dry clean for a while . You should get another coating done though. That will help seal it up. the two coats that you got doesn't look like it was applied at the proper coverage.

Never Dawn on floors because there should NEVER BE ANY SUDS ON WOOD FLOORS. Damp mop with water and vinegar. You're likely creating a residue on the floors.
