Hosta D 2025 . . . . . . .

Let me be the first to wish you all a Happy New Year! Ok now that that is all over, we need to get down to what we are here for. Baby eagles. NEFL E32 is here. 48 hours old. The egg behind him should hatch today. Already has a pip.

To answer a question: Yes I am a cat person. After being cat-less for 3 years I am looking at Maine Coon kittens. I had one before and he was so cool.

Man hands

Show us your Ds today. Let's get this party started. There is nothing like a hosta party!

    nice D's everyone!..

I'm a good candidate for the staying home & gardening award!!..

bodies are heavy so your own backyard is convenient 😝😝😝..and since the soil is loose plant some hostas! 😜😜😜..

I have 1 D..Diamond Lake..I planted it last fall but don't have a picture of it in the ground..I took a pic and posted a comment about it but deleted the pic..I had stones around it to deter squirrels and it wasn't pretty..I can't wait for it to grow in it's new home..old pics when it was in a pot..

    Happy New Year everyone!

Paula you outdid yourself with the jokes today! It is going to be fun watching the babies grow. If you are going to have one D Dancing Queen is a perfect choice!

Beth lovely DDG I have one I am trying to find a place for. Designer Genes was a dud for me too.

Saija Dry Ice is a nice one! Had never seen or heard of it until now.

Ann Diamond Lake is a beauty!

    Dancing Queen

Deja Blu needed a clean up.

    Dinner Mint

Dixie Chick. After 3 drought & extreme heat years a lot has reverted to Green Dixie. On the divide list.

    Dream Boat

Dream Queen. I knew I took less pics but I did not get a single one so this is from last year.

Not many D's for me... first of its 'Dancing Queen'

...and 'Dawn's Early Light', probably my favourite spring beacon...

Happy New Year! Best wishes for health, happiness, and good luck with our gardens!

Baby eagle is adorable. Most babies are! I’m glad to hear you’re getting a cat, Paula! They’re so nice to have around.

Beth, your Dragon Tails is inspiring.

Ann, “..and since the soil is loose plant some hostas! 😜😜😜..” This made me laugh 😊 Any opportunity to plant a new hosta is a good one.

Laurie, I noticed a lot of reversions under drought conditions. Your Deja Blu looks good.

I agree about Dawn’s Early Light. Such a bright spot in spring.

Paula, I couldn’t stop laughing over the cat scan and dead body jokes! Love, love, love the eaglets! Will be following their growth.
Beth, love Deep Blue Sea and Designer Jeans does not do well for me either.

Ann, very nice Diamond Lake. I hope it does well this year.

Laurie, I have always liked Dinner Mint, that just might go on my list for this year. Dream Queen looks good.

Pieter both of your Ds are beautiful!
Sandyslopes both of yours look great! Devon Green is a beautiful green to have!

I will post pictures in the forum.

    Dancing Queen

    Diana Remembered

    Deja Blu

Dream Queen - I did separate the solid blue last year (a sport?). Elegans to me.

    Ben very nice!

Ann & Debra I recall all of those. Many have been gone for a while now. Others have gone MIA recently like the Steves, oursteelers, Shadow, newhostalady, Gary etc. It is a busy time so I am hoping at least some return.

Oh, I'm still around-just hanging in the background. I check the site out daily, it's just that I didn't take any pictures last year. I did take an inventory of my plants with 857 named cultivars plus some of my own developments. I quit adding to my collection as I'm out of space. We will see what the Spring brings as I retired as of December 31 2025. My best wishes to everyone.

Congrats on your very recent retirement! It is always nice to know that some people are still around.

gary..congratulations on your retirement!..I LOVE retirement..I left my part time job in a pharmacy at 61 when my 4 yrs older husband retired at 65..I'm almost 71..the 10 years of retirement have flown by..the garden should be finished but it's not 😂..

Wow!..857 named cultivars!..I took a hosta count years ago..the total was 504 but I have lots of duplicates..only 50? 60? cultivars..a shot in my backyard..

Late to the party. I have to move Drinking Gourd this year, it's in too much sun and the blue burns off. I hope it's happy in it's new home.
